How to Make Peanut Butter at Home (Only 3 Ingredients!)

When I can, I like to make my own nut butters at home because it is very simple to do, I usually have the ingredients on hand and it’s cost effective. It’s also great because you get to choose exactly what goes into it- which means no added junk! I’m going to keep this blog short and get to the point: what you need to make homemade peanut butter is just peanuts, salt, and peanut oil. Some extra ingredients you can add if you’d like are cinnamon, vanilla extract and/or maple syrup (for a sweetener). I use my Vitamix, but a food processor also works just fine.
*This recipes yields about 26 ounces of peanut butter.
Homemade Peanut Butter Recipe
Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp peanut oil
- 1/8 tsp salt (adjust according to taste)
- 24 oz peanuts (raw, unsalted peanuts)
Instructions:
- Add all of the ingredients to the blender (or food processor) and blend until smooth. You may need to stop blending at times to take off the top and push down the mixture with a spoon.
- Add additional peanut oil if needed. Blend until you’ve reached your desired consistency.
